Daily itinerary:

Visit of the historical center of Cortona:  squares,   churches and   museums. Possibility to reach the Fortezza di Girifalco (1556 AD) built on the highest part of the north-east of the city and the Basilica of Santa Margherita.

 

Visit the hermitage of Le Celle: Saint Francis of Assisi came to Cortona in 1211 and founded this hermitage in a quiet place.

Siena (70 km), extraordinary city of art, well known for its famous Piazza del Campo shell-shaped and divided into nine sections with a slight slope, where twice a year there is the Palio.

Assisi (70km) not only a city of art and medieval but also a spiritual place linked to St. Francis.

 

Going down you can visit Santa Maria degli Angeli with its monumental Basilica.

 

Along the way back is also enjoyable visit to Perugia (24km) on the top of a hill overlooking the entire Umbrian valley.

Montepulciano (27 km) is a Renaissance jewel. From the Porta al Prato to the center where You can admire sixteenth century palaces to arrive in Piazza Grande.

 

With a detour you can reach Pienza (13 km) one of the most interesting towns in Tuscany, part of the World Heritage of UNESCO, San Quirico d’Orcia (10 km) where you can admire the collegiate church, splendid Romanesque church.

 

You can continue untill you reach Bagno Vignoni (7 km) small spa on a plateau.

Montalcino (60 km) medieval town, with narrow and steep streets, renowned for the high quality wine production.

Then you can find the medieval village of Buonconvento (13 km) and the Abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore (9 km), one of the main monastic sites in Italy.

Starting from San Gimignano (120 km), a small town situated on a hill overlooking the Val d'Elsa, in the heart of a countryside with olive trees and vines that has preserved its appearance of a medieval town, bristling with towers, which makes a tourist destination "unique" in Tuscany, you can also visit Colle di Val d'Elsa (15 km) and then reach Monteriggioni (15 km) tiny hamlet, enclosed by thirteenth century walls marked by fourteen towers.

 

Along the way back you can visit Siena (20 Km).

From the waters of Lake Trasimeno (20 km) waterway and bathing, are three islands Maggiore, Minore and Polvese.

You can visit the towns of Castiglione del Lago, which stands on a limestone outcrop which was originally the fourth largest island of the lake and the town of Passignano.
